Marco Bezzecchi kicked off Saturday morning of the Michelin Grand Prix of Aragón with a top time in MotoGP Free Practice 2. Read below for all the key points of the Saturday morning session at the Aragón GP.

Early Fast Times as Riders Find Grip

Green lights signalled the start of the 30-minute session, with riders slowly peeling out of the pit lane. Grip had been a headache for most riders so far, with the biggest complaints coming from Francesco Bagnaia. The #63 seemed to manage far better, coming into the top four on the board in his first run.

After topping the first free practice session of the weekend, there was talk that Marc Márquez had held back in the following Practice. The reigning champion was still hiding down in P18 in his first lap. M. Márquez then lit up every sector red to take second behind Johann Zarco.

Of course, this didn’t stand for long, with Bezzecchi, Diogo Moreira, Pedro Acosta, Brad Binder, and Luca Marini all coming up ahead to the top.

Uneventful MotoGP FP2 Closes Out With Bezzecchi On Top

Riders returned to their respective garages to provide feedback as the session reached the halfway point. That left Jack Miller on the Aragón circuit alone for a lap before the Australian did the same. The only incident so far involved Joan Mir, who ran wide at Turn 1 as he struggled to pull up the Honda HRC Castrol machine at the end of the straight.

In staggered waves, the MotoGP grid returned to the track for their second runs of the session. While Álex Márquez had kept quiet, the #73 found grip and pace to come up into P2, just three hundredths off of Bezzecchi’s time.

With less than five minutes remaining, the heat was on as M.Márquez and Raúl Fernández took the top two spots for themselves. However, after a small moment, Bezzecchi came back with a final time attack of 1:46.216.
