McLaren Racing announced a major new partnership with Schneider Electric. A project set to reinforce the team’s long-term commitment to sustainability. With this, the global energy technology company becomes McLaren’s official partner. This support will impact their existing Formula 1 and IndyCar teams and the future McLaren United Autosports WEC Hypercar project.

Furthermore, the partnership builds on an existing supplier relationship that spans more than 20 years. This new step is to elevate the project into a strategic collaboration that aligns closer with McLaren’s future ambitions across the multiple championships.

Proven Energy Technology in Extreme Environments

Schneider Electric is recognised globally for its work in electrification, automation, and digital intelligence. Their work is in helping industries operate more efficiently and sustainably. Its portfolio spans intelligent hardware, software-driven architectures, AI-powered systems, and digital services used across buildings, factories, data centres, and energy grids.

For McLaren, these technologies will be applied in some of the most demanding environments in motorsport. From delivering reliable power solutions at racetracks all around the world to supporting operations at the McLaren Technology Centre in Woking, the focus is on efficiency and consistency under pressure. This partnership shares at the heart a culture built around handling data intelligence and engineering excellence.

Leadership Perspectives on Innovation and Performance

McLaren Racing CEO Zak Brown highlighted the alignment between the two organisations. He describes the partnership as one built on shared values. “We’re proud to welcome Schneider Electric as our Official Energy Technology Partner,” Brown said. Additionally, he explains that the collaboration reflects a joint commitment to “innovation and energy efficiency”. He noted that by combining Schneider’s expertise with McLaren’s performance-driven culture, the team will explore “new ways to make our operations smarter and more efficient”.

From Schneider Electric’s side, CEO Olivier Blum pointed to motorsport as an ideal platform to prove their advanced energy solutions. “Racing is one of the most challenging environments to demonstrate the value of advanced energy and digital technology,” Blum explained. He emphasised that McLaren “pushes every system to its limits”. According to the CEO, this is precisely where Schneider Electric focuses on “performance, reliability, and efficiency makes the difference”, both on the track and behind the scenes.

Supporting McLaren’s Future in Formula 1, IndyCar, and WEC

As McLaren continues to improve its performance across multiple championships and prepares its comeback to endurance racing with its upcoming WEC Hypercar programme, the partnership clearly underlines a broader strategic goal. It reflects an ambition to embed energy innovation and sustainability into the foundation of racing. Meanwhile, they ensure McLaren remains competitive while adapting to the demands of a more efficient and technologically driven future.
