Mahindra Racing has confirmed that Kush Maini will continue in his role as Reserve Driver for the upcoming ABB FIA Formula E World Championship Season 12. The announcement reaffirms the team’s commitment to developing Indian talent within its Formula E program.

As an Indian driver joining the Indian team, Maini offers strong alignment with Mahindra’s identity – fostering meaningful connections with local fans, sponsors, and the broader motorsport community in India.

Maini first joined Mahindra Racing in early 2024, taking part in the Berlin Rookie Test, where he impressed by finishing second in the morning session and third in the afternoon —one of the standout performers of the day. He was also the fastest driver during the 2025 Rookie Free Practice session in Jeddah earlier in the year.

Due to his pace and adaptation to the Gen3 car, he’s viewed as a driver with significant potential in electric single-seaters.

Since then, Maini has remained closely involved with the team, contributing behind the scenes through simulator work and supporting car development through data analysis and driver feedback.

Alongside his commitments with Mahindra, Maini continues to compete in FIA Formula 2, where he races for the DAMS Lucas Oil team and serves as the reserve driver for the Alpine F1 Team.

By balancing his Formula 2 race seat with reserve roles in both Formula E and Formula 1, Maini is gradually accumulating diverse experiences that could lead to a full-time position in one of motorsport’s top categories.
