Tension was all over the place for the second feature race of the weekend as the three leaders of the championship battled in front.

Everyone was on supersoft tyres, except for Cian Shields who opted for soft. Just like the rest of the weekend, the poleman stayed in front. Noel León had a really great start as he went from P6 to P4 at the first turn. The Van Amersfoort car of Rafael Villagomez and the Trident of John Bennett touched and took the British driver out of the race, creating a safety car. Martinius Stenshorne made a late restart but managed to keep the lead as Câmara tried to attack Dunne to defend himself from León. Câmara defended his position still on Turn 3. Gabriele Minì made a great operation as he gained two positions at the restart.

Different strategies made the difference

Ritomo Miyata had an issue and stopped on track, bringing a yellow flag. Alexander Dunne pitted, with Beganovic, Montoya and Bilinski. The virtual safety car was called right after, giving them a great advantage on paper. Stenshorne, who was leading the race, was not happy about that decision. After the virtual safety car ending, Yamakoshi pitted on lap 9. Inthraphuvasak touched the wall on the last turn, bringing another yellow flag. Most drivers pitted except for Câmara and Tsolov. Stenshorne went out in front of his teammate but Dunne overtook him thanks to his tyres, right before the second virtual safety car.

Câmara and Tsolov pitted a lap later but they went out in front of everyone. Only Goethe and Shield didn’t pit after lap 11. Dunne overtook Câmara for the virtual lead of the race and Tsolov overtook Van Hoepen for P5. Oliver Goethe touched the wall, seemingly without consequences. Dunne was noted for crossing the white line at the pit entry, which gave a penalty for Tsolov yesterday. He took a 5-seconds penalty for that. Oliver Goethe pitted on lap 14. León overtook Kush Maini for P6. The ART Grand Prix driver seemed to lose rhythm as a lot of drivers overtook him. Meanwhile Villagomez retired his car in the stand.

Tension in front

Gabriele Minì overtook two drivers on lap 19 and 20 on the first turn for P11. Martinius Stenshorne defended on lap 21 against Tsolov while late braking, but lost that position a lap later thanks to his rival having the DRS. The first three of the championship were now on the podium and battling for the win. On lap 25, Câmara was really coming back on Dunne. On lap 28, Nikola Tsolov declared he touched the wall, giving a bit of space to Câmara in front.

Alexander Dunne with older tyres was trying so hard that he locked his tyres on the last turn of lap 28. Even though Alexander Dunne crossed the line in first his penalty made him P3, so Rafael Câmara won the race, with Nikola Tsolov in P2. Gabriele Minì finished in P9. About the championship, Rafael Câmara still leads it by 7 points in front of Nikola Tsolov.
