After 15 races across nine countries, the Season 12 Formula E title all comes down to the final destination: the London E-Prix. Going into the final fight, technically nine drivers remain in mathematical contention to achieve the championship. However, the three with the best chance are Jake Dennis, Mitch Evans, and Pascal Wehrlein. Just 5 points separate these drivers, meaning they’re all focused on maximising the weekend to come out on top.
Ahead of the weekend, the top three discussed their chances. From their mentality to what it means to them; here’s what they had to say.
Wehrlein Is Hunting a Second
Sitting third in the standings is Season 10’s champion: Pascal Wehrlein. With a title in his pocket, he’s well versed in what it takes to take the crown in London; having done so in 2024. Ahead of the weekend, he reflected on that title win and shared how it came down to not missing the Attack Mode and having performance from the get go. However, he admitted that “it’s different circumstances this weekend, so you cannot compare”.
For him, “strategy will be important”. With Saturday’s race featuring Pit Boost, having the correct strategy could be crucial when it comes to finding those extra points. Wehrlein mused that this aspect is what he is most worried about. But, he feels like the title will come down to who has performance on the day and doesn’t believe there is a favourite. “All four of us can win races, win the championship.”
Evans Is Chasing His First
Out of the top four, Evans is the lone driver waiting for that championship title. Whilst he acknowledged that can come with added pressure he doesn’t necessarily feel it going into the weekend, nor does he see it as a disadvantage. “I know I can do it”, he shared in the pre-race press conference. However, with minimal points separating them, he views this weekend as a reset and a “two-day shootout”.
Speaking the The Girls Who – Motorsport, Evans explained how “there’s a lot more tension, a bit more pressure“ as he heads into the London E-Prix. However, his aim is just to maximise the weekend and he’ll do his best to get pole and win the races. And to do that he shared that: “I don’t think that changing up the approach is the smartest thing”. For him, it comes down to staying clean and balancing being conservative with aggression.
The final round of Season 12 also marks a key career moment for Evans. After ten years, he will depart the Jaguar TCS Racing team. The driver shared with us that winning the championship to end his time with the team “would mean the world to me.” He went on to explain that “to finish my stint here with Jag in the best way possible would be incredible”.
Dennis Leads The Way
On 146 points coming into London, Jake Dennis comes into the final race of the 2025-2026 Formula E season in the top spot. Previously, he won the Season 9 title. The Andretti Formula E Team driver mimicked Evan’s sentiment that it feels like a “clean slate coming into this weekend,” and he continued to explain that everyone is there to do the best that they can.
Dennis credited Sanya and Tokyo with his boost to P1 in the standings, sharing how the latter was the moment he when he felt as though he could achieve a second championship. Having achieved most of his points in recent rounds, the Formula E driver feels like he has “kind of come out of nowhere in comparison to when I won it in Season 9.”
The Girls Who – Motorsport asked the championship leader if chasing a second championship differs to your first and Dennis doesn’t believe that it does: “We want to get that sensation of becoming world champion again. But whether I was here for my first time or my second, I’m still gonna try and drive the car as quickly as possible.”
He went on to say how his first title “feels like a lifetime ago” and admitted that the Andretti Formula E Team has struggled in recent years. Because of this, he shared how “to turn it around now and be in this position is a big enough achievement”. Ultimately, though, Dennis will go out on track and give it his all, admitting that “I’ll be at peace as long as I can get out of the car and think, I did my job”.

So it all comes down to this weekend in London. The final race of Formula E’s GEN3 era sees the closest championship battle in the series’ history. Consequently, it’s one not to miss. Will Dennis or Wehrlein become the second driver to achieve multiple championships? Or can Evans end his time with Jaguar with a win?
