Rafael Câmara has claimed pole position for the F2 Feature Race on Sunday following a twice red-flagged session.
The First Red Flag
Just five minutes into the session, the red flag was flown as Noel León spun. He was able to reverse and restart his car, rejoining the session.
Before the interruption, the fastest driver on track was Martinius Stenshorne who set a time of 2:10.402.
F2 Qualifying Resumes
As soon as qualifying restarted, many lap times came through. León, Colton Herta, Roman Bilinksi, Rafael Câmara and Nikola Tsolov all traded times at the top. However, Alex Dunne was the fastest driver on track, setting a 1:57.124.
The Second Stoppage
Whilst León was on his flying lap, F2 Qualifying was halted once again. A yellow flag was flown for Laurens Van Hoepen who had stopped on the start/ finish straight. The yellow flag soon became a red flag as the stationary car was causing a danger to those on flying laps.
The End Of Qualifying
At the end of the session, the drivers were battling to secure the all-important pole position. With just three minutes left on the clock, every second mattered. However, it was Invicta’s Câmara who was able to set the best time of 1:56.306.
F2’s Sprint Race will take place on Saturday at 14:15.
