With the highly anticipated GEN4 era in Formula E just around the door, the final pieces are falling into place. It has now been confirmed that CUPRA KIRO will remain as a customer team of Porsche as the new era begins.

CUPRA KIRO’s Journey

Taking over the ERT Formula E Team, CUPRA KIRO joined the Formula E grid for Season 11. Coming into the series, they became a customer team of Porsche, using their powertrain in their GEN3 machinery.

Over the past two years, the partnership has given the small outfit impressive results. With the Porsche 99X Electric powertrain being highly efficient, it has won two championships in the GEN3 era. CUPRA KIRO have capitalised on this performance to have standout results, including three pole positions and a maiden win at the 2025 Jakarta E-Prix.

Throughout their time in the series, CUPRA KIRO have shown a positive trajectory and are consistently improving.

Looking Towards GEN4

For the upcoming Season 13, CUPRA KIRO will remain a customer team of Porsche. They will be using the brand new Porsche 975 RSE for the debut of the GEN4 era. The customer team will be hoping to continue their upwards momentum. And Porsche will look to continue their success as Formula E faces a new challenge.

The GEN4 car will reimagine the possibilities in electric racing. Providing drivers with faster, more powerful cars, Season 13 is something to be excited for. The continuation of this partnership shows that both parties are aiming to optimise those changes.
