Dunne Tops the Timings in F2 Canadian Practice

Alex Dunne has established himself as an early leader for the Formula Two Canadian round as several drivers spin in a disrupted Free Practice session.

Early Issues

When the session began, Gabriele Minì not able to leave the pit lane and had to be wheeled out of the way by marshals.

John Bennett went off at Turn 12 however it was Joshua Dürksen who topped the times with a 1:37.455. He was then able to reduce his time by over 12 seconds to a 1:25.319.

Kush Maini suffered with a lock-up and nearly hit Nicolás Varrone, ending both of their sessions. The Free Practice session also saw an off for Dino Beganovic with the Swedish driver carrying too much speed into the corner.

Minì was able to get onto the track after 15 minutes yet seemingly struggled. At the top of the field, Alex Dunne was somewhat untouchable after setting a 1:22.524.

The first yellow flag was shown for Sebastian Montoya who spun at Turn 2.

More Drivers Off

Rafael Câmara suffered with an off and shortly later a yellow flag was shown for Rafael Villagómez, who spun and hit the ‘Wall of Champions’

Alex Dunne also suffered with a big lock-up before a yellow flag was thrown for Colton Herta who had spun.

Varrone also had issues and pulled off the track on the back straight.

Overall, it was Alex Dunne who topped the times, with his Rodin teammate Martinis Stenshorne in second and Campos’ Nikola Tsolov in third.
