All eyes are on Germany, with the Berlin E-Prix being in full swing. Jake Dennis spoke to The Girls Who, explaining his cohabitation with Felipe Drugovich and giving his thoughts on the GEN4.

The Berlin E-Prix is only the seventh race of the 2026 season in Formula E. However, it’s a complicated season for Dennis, as he scored only 22 points after his victory in the first race. Asked if he had any issues, he answered, “No real major issues, to be honest. It’s just that the first race of the season was really good. Since then, we haven’t quite had the ultimate performance. But it doesn’t take much to be P10 in Formula E. It can be done in one attempt. We just need to try and be on the right side of that attempt, and hopefully, we should be back where we were at the start of the year.

However, the Brits might need the help of his teammate, Felipe Drugovich, to understand how to improve. It’s only the second time in his career that he has a rookie with him. He is now also a much more experienced driver than previously. The cohabitation seems to be great between the two of them.

Felipe is obviously a rookie, but I think he is pretty well experienced since he has driven in Formula 1 and he’s an F2 champion. So, I wouldn’t say I treat him any differently to how I treated Nato last year.”

He also gives more detail about their work methods. “We just work together as one. There are definitely things that I learn from him in terms of how he drives the car. We try to collaborate as much as we can, whether it’s on Free Practices and Qualifying. For the Race, we try to do what’s best for the team.

Eyes on the future

A positive mindset for the Andretti Formula E driver, which is a great thing since he re-signed with the team for multiple years. Was it an obvious choice for him to stay with the team who saw his debut back in 2021?

“It was a pretty easy decision at the end to make the choice and stay with Andretti. I’ve been with these guys from the start; moving into a new project with the GEN4 gave me the occasion to stay with a team I’m very established with.”

He also declared, “Ultimately, we managed to agree with terms and conditions on both sides. I’m very happy to continue this partnership for another period of time. Hopefully we can be competitive in GEN4.

An exciting time is ahead with all the information that we already have on this new car, and we’re not the only ones. Dennis himself seems excited at this idea; he explains, “I think the power of acceleration is really the biggest step forward. Every driver I spoke to so far said it’s a real beast and it’s a big step forward in terms of performance. No real negative comment; I think every driver is happy to have this increase of speed and power.

A new car also means a new opportunity to shift the order between teams. A change that the Andretti Formula E driver also wants to see: “Overall, I’m just looking forward to a new car. We have had the GEN3 now for four years. It’s time for a change; technology is always evolving outside of Formula E in general life, so it’s now time to progress to a bigger and faster car.
