The Nissan Formula E Team has confirmed Abbi Pulling and Victor Martins as its drivers for the upcoming 2026 Madrid Rookie Test, 22nd March, at the Circuito del Jarama. The test will take place after the CUPRA Raval Madrid E-Prix, giving teams an opportunity to gather further data on the GEN3 Evo car while offering additional track time to younger drivers.
Pulling Returns for Further GEN3 Evo Running
Pulling, who serves as Nissan’s simulator driver, will make her fifth appearance in the GEN3 Evo. The British driver impressed during the inaugural Formula E Women’s Test in Madrid, where she set the fastest time. Backing up her talent this year, she also showed strong pace during pre-season testing in Valencia.
The 2024 F1 Academy champion is continuing her development in single-seaters and will race a second season in the GB3 Championship this year with Rodin Motorsport. Speaking ahead of the test, Pulling said she is “pleased to be teaming up with Nissan Formula E Team again in Jarama,” adding that she feels increasingly comfortable in the car after recent outings and simulator work. “My target is to keep improving,” she stated.
Martins Back with the Team
Joining her in the garage will be Martins, who previously sat in the Formula E car in the Berlin Rookie Test and in pre-season testing in Valencia in 2023. The French driver showed strong talent in the junior categories. Where the 24-year-old won the Formula Renault Eurocup title in 2020 and the FIA Formula 3 Championship in 2022. He also works as a test and development driver for the Atlassian Williams F1 Team and will compete in the FIA World Endurance Championship this year with the Alpine Endurance Team.
Martins said he is “really excited to be back with Nissan Formula E Team,” noting that he knows many members of the team from previous tests. While it will be his first experience of the GEN3 Evo car, he added that he is looking forward to “learning as much as I can” during the session.
The Madrid Rookie Test will conclude Formula E’s first race weekend at Jarama, offering teams a valuable day of development running while giving rising drivers another opportunity to gain experience in the all-electric championship.
