As we prepare for the upcoming series, we’re getting to know the rising stars of the Formula 1 world. Invicta Racing is the only team solely in Formula 2, making the 11th team on the grid. As a reformed team with recent success, they’ll be hoping 2026 continues their upward trajectory.
Since joining the grid in 2023, Invicta Racing have been improving year on year. Initially, they joined as the title sponsor for the Virtuosi Racing team. In 2024, the watch company took ownership, completing the acquisition in 2025. Before this change, Virtuosi had seen success in the junior category, but that has been amplified by Invicta. The team have now taken back-to-back team and driver championships.
2024 saw a successful debut, with Gabriel Bortoleto bringing them a double championship. Last year, Invicta Racing signed Formula 3 champion Leonardo Fornaroli and veteran Roman Stanĕk. Once again, they won both championships, but with both drivers leaving the series for 2026, they’re facing a new lineup again.
Rafael Cȃmara
“I’m very proud to be joining Invicta Racing for my first season in Formula 2.”
After the double success of signing the reigning F3 champion, Invicta are hoping for a third consecutive win with Rafael Cȃmara joining the team. The Brazilian rookie turned heads last year as he joined F3, winning his first feature race in Australia. A clean and consistent season saw him win over Nikola Tsolov and Mari Boya, and after a solo season, he’ll advance to F2.
Starting karting in 2011, Cȃmara quickly went from national to international competition. As he developed his skills, he progressed each year, and in 2021, he won three karting championships. 2022 saw his single-seater debut, and his speed and consistency have helped him gain recognition and success. He was signed to the Ferrari Driver Academy due to his impressive debut season in the Formula 4 UAE Championship.
After two years with Prema Racing, in 2024, he dominated FRECA—winning the championship with a 75-point margin. This caught the eye of many teams, and Trident signed him for their 2025 F3 campaign. Upon signing, the Invicta Team Principal James Robinson praised Cȃmara, saying: “At every stage of his career to date, he’s shown pace, consistency, and maturity, delivering outstanding results that really speak for themselves.”
Joshua Dürksen
“I’ve learned a lot during my time in F2 so far, and I feel ready to fight at the very front every weekend and to show what Paraguay is capable of.”
After a relatively quiet karting career, Dürksen came onto the international stage in 2017. He was the first Paraguayan to reach the final of the Rotax Max Challenge. 2019 saw his debut in single-seaters, competing in the Formula 4 UAE Championship. He continued in various Formula 4 championships, securing 11 wins over three years.
He advanced to FRECA in 2022 with Arden Motorsport and achieved his first podium at Spa-Francochamps. After a test in 2023 with Formula 3, he was announced to be joining the Formula 2 grid in 2024. Imola saw his first podium, and history was made for Paraguay within the series.
During his time with PHM AIX Racing, he achieved four wins and 12 podiums. But, for 2026, Dürksen will be switching to the reigning champion team. “Joshua has been one of the standout performers in Formula 2 over the past couple of seasons. He’s a proven race winner with not only the speed, but the mindset to fight at the sharp end of the grid.” Team Principal Robinson commented on the young Paraguayan upon his signing.
Looking Ahead: Invicta Racing in 2026
After a successful two years, what’s next for Invicta Racing? Despite their wins, Invicta won’t be settling. Like everyone else, the team will be aiming to improve whilst continuing their victorious form. By signing Cȃmara and Dürksen, Invicta Racing are showing its commitment to helping develop young drivers.
The young champion will bring speed, whilst the Paraguayan will bring established results and knowledge. Working in tandem, the lineup is offering the British outfit the perfect combination: proven success, the ability to grow, and the desire to be on top.
With a strong pairing and the desire to continually improve, will Invicta Racing be able to make it a hat-trick of championships this year? We don’t have long until we find out.
