Jake Dennis at the front in Free Practice 3

1–2 minutes

Third and final Free Practice session in Jeddah for Formula E. A rather calm session where testing the final set up was the goal, but still with a racing line issue.

Despite a calm session, Formula E still has his part of surprises. Nyck de Vries was still in his box while the others started to make a time on track. He could not engage drive, like yesterday, meaning the issue was still not solved. Both Cupra Kiro’s cars were in the top 3 in the first five minutes. Edoardo Mortara improved his lap and took second position, only 0.006 seconds behind Dan Ticktum. Nick Cassidy really took the curb and went really close to the wall, without touching it. A while later, Felipe Drugovic gave a bit of feedback to his team, saying he was lacking a bit of grip.

Speed in mid session

Halfway through the session, most of the drivers were back into the pitlane, except for Sébastien Buemi, just like Free Practice 2. He was the first driver to make a full energy lap on track and go over the edge. He took first place, with a 1:16.064 time.

Pascal Wehrlein also attacked his fast lap but found Di Grassi’s car on his way into the last sector, making him lose a bit of time. Speaking of Di Grassi, he aborted his attempt because his car slided while Mortara took first place and Jean-Eric Vergne second, only 0.087 separating them.

Get out of the racing line!

Oliver Rowland drifted and took the curb, making him abort his lap into Turn 5. At the end of the session, Da Costa was on a fast lap but found himself in some traffic. He tried to avoid the cars but ended up touching Vergne’s Citroen that was driving slow on the racing line. Jake Dennis took first place, with a 1:15.227 time, in front of Evans and Ticktum.
