During the 2026 IndyCar content days, The Girls Who – Motorsport spoke to Meyer Shank Racing driver Felix Rosenqvist. We discussed how to know when you reach the limit and looked at the new tracks. Rosenqvist also reflected on the 2025 season and told us his key takeaway.

Pushing the Limits

To start, we asked what feeling Rosenqvist looks for in his car to know he’s reached the limit. “Just be comfortable with uncomfortability”, he answered. The Swedish driver explained how “you have to go over the limit to actually reach the limit.”

The new generation of cars is “incredibly tough to drive”. Rosenqvist admitted that a trend has emerged where you have to “push yourself as hard as possible”. He went on to share that how far you can push yourself is the “limit of how fast you can go”. However, he also acknowledged that there are “lots of other moving parts” involved.

Rosenqvist’s 2025 Takeaway

As he explained the trend emerging in how to drive the cars, we also discussed what he learnt in 2025. Rosenqvist’s biggest takeaway from the previous season is that “everyone is making a lot of mistakes.

He praised Álex Palou, sharing how the champion “was something different, something game-changing. Just like the cars have changed, the requirements for winning have too. Reflecting on his earlier seasons, Rosenqvist shared how finishing in the top six each race would put you in contention”. Now, you need to be “on the podium almost every race.”

“We all aspire to win,” he admitted. And to do that, Rosenqvist believes that everyone, teams and drivers, “have something to learn” from Palou going forward.

New Season, New Tracks

This year, we have two new tracks and one that returns after an eight-year hiatus. Out of these new challenges, Rosenqvist is looking forward to Arlington the most, saying it “looks like a cool event”. The drivers have spoken about it a lot during the off-season. The Meyer Shank Racing driver shared how it will be “a bit of a puzzle to figure the track out” but shared how that’s a fun aspect of new street venues.

Rosenqvist shared how, for all three, practices become really important to get comfortable around them. He went on to explain that what makes the difference for who does well lies in finding the “tricks [and] funny lines”. He is also looking forward to the Phoenix Raceway getting new tarmac ahead of the race, claiming that it was “lovely to hear”.

For Felix Rosenqvist, 2026 is about continuing to push the limits and eliminating mistakes. He’s taking what he learnt from last year to improve and grow, and he’ll be having fun whilst doing it.
