Toyota has announced two major updates to its Hypercar team ahead of the 2026 World Endurance Championship season opener in Qatar.

New Livery Announced

Toyota officially unveiled the Toyota TR010 Hybrid, paired with a V6 twin-turbo engine, the team’s challenger for the 2026 World Endurance Championship season. The new and improved Le Mans Hybrid marks the next generation of the GR010 Hybrid. The model Toyota has been using since its debut in the Hypercar class in 2021.

This will mark Toyota’s third major update to its LMH prototype, featuring notable visual changes to the design. The front end of the car faces the most changes. These upgrades take inspiration from the brand’s road cars, including a narrower front. The sidepods have also been modified, along with other changes such as wider rear tyres.

Another striking change to the livery includes the paint. The TR010 Hybrid will make its debut in Qatar with a predominantly red design. Toyota is moving on from its all-black design, which has remained unchanged for the past two seasons. The TR010 Hybrid livery draws similarities to Toyota’s 24 Hours of Le Mans 2025 Livery.

Removal Of Gazoo Racing

The other significant change Toyota announced was a team name change. With the new generation of Hypercar comes a new rebrand for the team. Toyota has shared that Gazoo Racing will no longer be involved in the Japanese brand’s Hypercar sector. The brand’s research and development centre in Cologne has also been renamed to “TOYOTA RACING GmbH” from 7th January 2026 onwards.  Toyota has announced that its Hypercar team will now be known as TOYOTA RACING, dropping “Gazoo Racing” from its name.

However, Gazoo Racing will still be involved with the Japanese brand in other sectors such as the World Rally Championship programme and customer motorsports with the GR YARIS Rally2 and GR Supra GT4. Toyota’s WRC team will also be known as GAZOO Racing (GR) moving forward.
