The 2026 season is not far away and most of the teams in Formula 3 and Formula 2 already have their eyes on it. MP Motorsport is certainly one of them.

After a good 2025 season in Formula 3 and a more half-hearted performance in Formula 2, MP Motorsport is ready to take their chances again in 2026 and bring both trophies home. With three drivers changed in total and only one rookie, they’re one of the most experienced line-up. But who will try to bring success into the Dutch team ?

New and old talents

After the departure of Bruno Del Pino and Tim Tramnitz, new faces will enter the MP Motorsport team for 2026, but not without a good amount of talent.

Alessandro Giusti

The 19-years old driver continues with MP Motorsport for a second year. He had a mid season, and was often in the shadow of his later teammate Tim Tramnitz. Like Taponen, he scored 67 points, finishing tenth in the standing. He also finished on two podiums. He will probably take the leader role but will have a serious contender to fight against.

Tuukka Taponen

If the Finnish driver had high hopes for his Formula 3 debut last year, no one could predict that ART Grand Prix would struggle that much. Even with a difficult season, he still managed to score 67 points, finishing ninth in the standing, and took three podiums. After two years under the French flag, the 2024 FRMEC champion will try his luck with MP Motorsport and can still prove his talent.

Mattia Colnaghi

A new face will enter the F3 paddock with the Argentinian driver. Previously with MP Motorsport in Eurocup-3, he brought the trophy home and was crowned champion. He won with 256 points and did not even participate in the last race in Barcelona. He also drove in the Macau Grand Prix and finished fourth. The 17-years old will definitely be one to watch, especially since he joined the Red Bull Junior Team.

Old acquaintances

It’s not a secret that after five seasons, Richard Verschoor left Formula 2, leaving an empty seat in the black and orange team. If the second driver will remain, someone familiar to the feeder series fan is joining MP Motorsport.

Oliver Goethe

The German driver is staying with MP Motorsport for a second season. After eight races in 2024, he made his first full season in Formula 2 last season. And it was truly a learning experience for him. He was inconsistent in his performance even though he showed great speed. He finished fifteenth in the standing, with only 37 points under his belt. Now familiar with the environment, we can expect him to battle in the top ten for this season. He certainly has the talent and the experience to do so and to contribute to the team’s success.

Gabriele Minì

The Italian driver had a rough season with Prema Racing last year. Even though his first taste of Formula 2 in 2024 saw him finish on a podium during the first race, it was very different for his full season. When he was good, Prema struggled and when Prema was good, Minì struggled. He did manage to finish on three podiums, the same amount as his teammate. The decision to move to MP Motorsport was certainly a good one if he can manage to regain his former performances.

Taking a look at both line-ups, MP Motorsport certainly has one of the most exciting ones to watch. If the team can maintain their previous form, or even improve it, there is no doubt that they can fight for both championships.
