Colombian racing driver Tatiana Calderón will represent the newly launched Citroën Racing Formula E Team during the Formula E All-Women’s Test at Circuit Ricardo Tormo in Valencia on 31 October 2025.

The confirmation comes only days after Citroën unveiled its new Formula E team in Paris. This test will mark a historic first, as Calderón becomes the first woman to drive a Citroën single-seater race car.

Showcasing talent in top-level electric racing

The All-Women’s Test supports the governing body’s commitment to increasing female participation in elite motorsport. The session allows talented drivers to demonstrate their skills in the latest GEN3 Evo Formula E cars while teams gain valuable development data ahead of the Season 12 opener in São Paulo this December.

Citroën says the programme aligns perfectly with the brand’s values and mission in electric competition. Having a woman behind the wheel of a Citroën single-seater for the first time is an important and inspiring milestone,” explains Cyril Blais, Citroën Racing Formula E Team Principal.

Blais emphasised that the team wants to nurture talent and create an environment where drivers can grow.

“Tatiana’s experience, technical understanding and determination make her the perfect representative for this occasion where we need to combine talent and courage with a very safe pair of hands behind the wheel. We have no doubt that she will rise to the occasion,” he added.

Calderón’s elite racing experience

Calderón brings one of the most comprehensive résumés in international single-seater racing. Her career includes competition in Formula 2, GP3, IndyCar and Super Formula, as well as factory-backed endurance racing in both IMSA and the FIA World Endurance Championship.

Crucially, Calderón already has Formula E experience. She is a known face from previous official tests, including the inaugural Women’s Test last year and a Rookie Free Practice outing in Jeddah.

Reflecting on her return to the championship paddock, Calderón said that the opportunity is one she holds in high regard. I’m incredibly proud to be representing Citroën Racing at the all-women’s Formula E test in Valencia,” stated Calderón.

She also noted the significance of the journey ahead.

As a racing driver for me to be the first woman to drive a Citroën single-seater is a real honour, and it’s made even more special as I’m back with some familiar faces from my time previously in this championship,” she continued.

Calderón believes Formula E provides the ideal platform to demonstrate her abilities.

Building momentum for the future

The Valencia test will provide Calderón and the team with time to focus on key areas such as energy management, race simulations and long-run analysis. These kinds of data sets are vital for success in the team’s first season back in electric racing.

Last year’s maiden FIA Formula E All-Women’s Test demonstrated tangible progress. Several participating drivers earned official development roles. This year aims to build further on that momentum and open more doors for female talent across the paddock.

Alongside the test event, Formula E announced an expanded Girls on Track programme. At the event, up to one hundred young women will take part in educational workshops and experience life behind the scenes in the championship. This initiative supports increasing visibility, aspiration and access across the motorsport industry.
