Bridging the gap in motorsports for aspiring female drivers, Formula E have announced, for the second year, that there will be a women’s testing. Each team will have at least one driver representing them on the timesheets.

Marta Will Paint the Circuit Blue (And Yellow)

Lola Yamaha ABT have announced that Marta García will return to Formula E on the 31st of October to test for them around the Circuit Ricardo Tormo in Valencia.

Being crowned the 2023 F1 Academy champion, Marta is no stranger to success. Lola Yamaha ABT will be lucky to extract crucial information from the 25-year-old. With double the time on track this year, it will be exciting to see how Marta performs.

No Stranger to the Electric Cars

Despite Marta not racing competitively in Formula E, she is no stranger to the fans. Instead, fans are thrilled and awaiting her return.

Her debut in Formula E was made in 2024 during the Rookie Test in Berlin. Completing 88 laps around the circuit, Marta gained experience in the Gen3 car that others may lack in their first season. This experience will allow her to maximise her opportunity – she can spend more time setting in laps than adjusting to the car.

Shortly after, Marta was given her second opportunity in the Gen3 car. During the Women’s Test in Madrid, she found herself among the midfield, finishing in 8th place. With improvement every lap, she proved how adaptable she is a new car.

Third Times a Charm!

Marta returns to the electric cars for the third time in her career. This may be her most important season as she aids a team that placed last in Season 11’s championship standings. Despite the pressure, Marta has expressed her excitement working with a new team.

‘They have a lot of experience and technical depth, so it’s a great opportunity for me to learn for them, adapt quickly and contribute to the team’s development. Every kilometre in these cars is a valuable experience, and I’m excited to make the most of this opportunity’. Marta García.

A Chance for Change

Diversity in the sport will be challenged and Marta is a great symbol for change here. Eager eyes of newer fans and especially female motorsports fans will be proud to see the representation Formula E have provided them. Slowly, Marta is becoming well-known within motorsports which is a testament to the opportunities that she has been given. Her hard work and sheer determination will open gates to future.

She also promotes change for Lola Yamaha ABT. She will have a great impact on the teams’ development ahead of Season 12. With less pressure on her to perform as it isn’t an official race, Marta is left with freedom to experiment in the car. She can push it to its limits, take corners faster and play around with tires for valuable data. Her time in the car will assist engineers on how to manage the race craft ahead of the upcoming season.
