Who is Felipe Drugovich?

Felipe Drugovich, deemed to be one of the most promising rising talents from Brazil, is no stranger to Formula E fans. Known for being crowned Formula 2 champion in 2022, he progressed in his career to being Aston Martin’s reserve driver. Since his departure from the feeder series, he has been linked closely with Formula E teams.

”He won F2 with complete dominance – there wasn’t a driver who could really get close to him.”

Jake Dennis, Andretti driver, explains to total-motorsport.com.

Making his debut in Formula E by taking part in the Berlin Rookie testing in 2023 with Maserati, Drugovich quickly became a favourite. The rookie posted top timings and caught the attention of many teams. After testing, Dennis was insistent that Andretti were interested in Drugovich.

Is the Deal Done?

Whilst there has been no official statement posted, the rumours are thought to be true. Felipe Drugovich is set to join Andretti for the 2026 season.

If confirmed, Andretti will race Season 12 with what could arguably be one of the strongest lineups. With Dennis confirmed until the summer of 2026, the American team will be one with both experience and youthful determination.

Does Drugovich to Andretti Make Sense?

In short, yes. Both parties in this deal will benefit from the confirmation of the 25-year-old. It is becoming apparent that the F1 race seat looks increasingly out of reach for the Aston Martin reserve driver. If the paddock rumours are confirmed, it will provide Drugovich with an alternative chance to develop his racing career.

That being said, Andretti too will benefit from Drugovich becoming their second driver. Andretti is considered a top team in Formula E but has been missing the consistency of a second driver. Drugovich would not only be great for fighting for points to aid in the constructors’ championship but is also an ideal candidate for picking up race wins himself.

Let’s not forget Drugovich picked up 6 points by finishing in 7th place at the Berlin E-Prix in 2025 when Nyck de Vries was unable to race for Mahindra. Could this be exactly what Andretti needs for another successful season and possibly another World Championship? Rumour has it we will find out soon!
