While Zandvoort ended in a double DNF for the team, the tifosi will have their eyes on Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton to honor their home crowd this weekend.
It’s a full house as Formula 2 and 3 also go racing again.
About the Temple of Speed
The 2025 Formula 1 Pirelli Gran Premio d’Italia is at the Autodromo Nazionale, from September 5–7.
The 5.793 km track has 53 laps and only 11 corners (4 left, 7 right), making it one of the fewest circuits on the calendar. Monza is known as Formula 1’s fastest circuit, cars spend around 76% of lap time and 82% of lap distance at full throttle.
Key overtaking points include the long pit straight and Variante del Rettifilo. Monza features minimal gear changes per lap, emphasizing the importance of slipstreaming.
Keep an Eye Out
Oscar Piastri leads the Drivers’ Championship with 309 points, 34 points ahead of teammate Lando Norris after his DNF in Zaandvoort.
Meanwhile, McLaren tops the Constructors’ standings, well ahead of Ferrari and Mercedes.
Lewis Hamilton walks into the weekend with a 5-place grid penalty for a safety car infringement prior to the start of the Dutch GP.
He described the punishment as “pretty hardcore.”
This will make qualifying a crucial point for the team, best position guarantees a smoother race.
Formula 2 & 3
Formula 2 reaches its climax in Monza; with just one Sprint Race and a Feature Race left on Sunday morning, Leonardo Fornaroli leads the championship as he reaches the final moments before being crowned the F2 champion.
Formula 3 eases into the weekend as it reaches its conclusion with Rafael Câmara crowned as the 2025 F3 champion.
