Norman Nato has had a turbulent but quietly effective return to Nissan Formula E Team in Season 11. In an interview with The Girls Who – Motorsport, ahead of the London E-Prix the Frenchman shared a candid self-assessment. Nato highlighted his clear focus heading into the final rounds.

In the Fight for Nissan’s Championship Goals

“The most important is to be in the fight for the team and manufacturer championship,” Nato said. “That was the aim—and that’s what we are fighting for this weekend.”

When asked what it takes to beat Porsche, Nato was direct: “We just want to win against Porsche. It doesn’t really matter the position. If we can do a first podium with both cars together this season, of course it will help.”

Fast but Flawed: Nato’s Honest Season Review

Nato’s season has been marked by speed—but also setbacks. “Since race one, pretty much every weekend I’ve been fast. But pretty unluckylike so many others in Formula E,” he admitted. “There are some areas I have to improve… like Jeddah. I didn’t do a good weekend. Mistake in qualifying. In terms of race strategy, something we could have done better.”

Despite the challenges, he gave himself a modest rating: “I would say six [out of ten]. Free practice, qualifying—on one lap, I’ve been quite good. But strategy side is the main focus.”

Returning to Nissan, despite having raced for the team before, was no walk in the park. “It’s kind of a different team,” Nato explained. “New race engineer, new structure, different car, different system. It’s always tricky… but at the end, we are in the fight for the championship. So it’s good.”

As for Formula E’s latest innovation, PitBoost, Nato kept it simple: So far, didn’t have any issue. It didn’t cost me a race, so nothing to complain about.”
