Tire choice
For this weekend, Pirelli has supplied two sets of medium and two sets of softs tires. In the feature race, teams must use both compounds unless wet conditions make that unnecessary. Pirelli adopted the dual-compound strategy following its success during the 2024 season. Tire wear will be a key factor this weekend, heavily influenced by how aggressively drivers attack the corners.
Improvements throughout the field
In terms of performance, Gabriele Minì showed strong pace in the speed traps, confirming his recent progress in both qualifying and race pace. Despite some bad luck in recent events, he’s been consistently improving.
Rodin Motorsport had a standout Free Practice session, with Alex Dunne setting the fastest lap time and his teammate Cordeel finishing fourth. Dunne continues to impress and looks competitive heading into the rest of the weekend.
Further down the field, both Leonardo Fornaroli and Sebastián Montoya ended up in mid-table positions. Their lap times suggest they may have focused on optimizing performance sector by sector rather than chasing headline times.
Miyata is still struggling to score points regularly, but has shown improvement for his race performance, indicating progress in adapting to the car and conditions.
With temperatures rising and the fog clearing during Formula 2 Free Practice, teams now have more stable conditions to work with as they prepare for qualifying and the races ahead. Today’s schedule is, however, delayed to make room for the Formula 3 Free Practice 1 session.
