After a dramatic FP1 with Ai Ogura‘s destroyed bike and Marco Bezzecchi‘s fall, FP2 at the Brno Circuit kicks off in a feverish haze of anticipation.
Fabio Quartararo took the early lead, bringing in a track record just 10 minutes into the session. This continues Monster Energy Yamaha M1’s confidence going into the weekend, as a early and promising contender to the podium.
The track was dry throughout, relieving teams of the earlier struggles of tire choices, offering great grip for top speed. This proved to be significant for lap times, with riders putting pressure on each other to reach the top.
A Streak Of Firsts For Marc Márquez
Amidst a frenzy to gather tire data for the dry and resurfaced track, riders primarily used the medium tires for their front, and many opted for a mix of soft and medium tires for their rears.
Marc Márquez continues his streak of top finishes, after a stunning lap that beat Quartararo’s earlier record. He was followed closely by Jack Miller and Fabio di Giannantonio.
