2–3 minutes

Scott Ogden kicked off the Liqui Moly Grand Prix of Germany 2025, setting a time of 1:25.707 in Free Practice 1. The British rider was faster by a tenth of a second, followed by José Antonio Rueda and Joel Kelso.

The Sachsenring morning session was dry with cool temperatures and blue skies. But dark clouds were not far away, with the prediction of rain for later today. Read on for the key moments of the Moto3 FP1 session.

Early Morning Crashes

Thirty-five minutes on the clock, and the riders zipped out immediately onto the track. It wasn’t long before we were under yellow flags with Vicente Pérez and Leonardo Abruzzo coming together in Sector 1. The primary benefit of the German track is that yellow flags come out and back in very quickly, so it was back to normal conditions within a minute. Tatchakorn Buasri had a scary highside in Turn 13, the Thai rider already suffering from shoulder issues.

Another Bad Start on Friday

Máximo Quiles took an interesting line back into the pit lane, riding on the damp grass and pushing up the hill. His bike had been billowing smoke and eventually caught fire back at the garage. Thankfully, no oil was spilled, and the session could continue. However, with only the one bike spared for the morning’s session, Quiles was unable to make it back out onto the circuit.

Ten Minutes To Go

After making adjustments in the pit, riders returned to the track to complete a few more laps for the morning. Adrián Fernández ran into the gravel trap on Turn 1 before dropping the bike. He did manage to get the Leopard Racing machine back up and running again.

A few riders were chasing Rueda to take the top spot in the final few minutes, including Kelso and Scott Ogden. Ángel Piqueras pushed a little too far and ended up having his lap time deleted. With the checkered flag already out, there was no time left to set another flying lap.
