The 2025 24 Hours of Le Mans entry list has been officially revealed, showcasing a full grid of 62 cars ready to take on the world’s most iconic endurance race. With entries across Hypercar, LMP2, and LMGT3, the 92nd edition of Le Mans promises an unforgettable weekend of motorsport.
From world-famous manufacturers to emerging talents and returning legends, this year’s lineup reflects the depth and diversity that define endurance racing at the highest level.
Overview
This year’s entry list features:
- 62 total cars
- 21 Hypercars
- 17 LMP2 entries
- 24 LMGT3 cars
That’s 186 drivers from 33 different nationalities, with the largest contingents coming from the UK (29 drivers), France (22), and Italy (18).
The lineup also reflects Le Mans’ growing diversity, with at least five female drivers confirmed, including entries from Porsche and Ferrari’s LMGT3 teams. The Iron Dames crew won’t be complete, as the duo made up by Marta García and Vanina Ickx for the LMGT3 won’t be taking part at the race because of health issues.
LMP2: A beloved class holding its ground
Although LMP2 is no longer part of the FIA WEC season since 2024, the category remains an integral part of the 24 Hours of Le Mans. In 2025, 17 LMP2 entries lined up on the grid, showing that the class continues to thrive thanks to its competitive nature. While its long-term future remains under discussion, LMP2 still delivers some of the closest racing on the grid. The top class in 2025 is defined by variety: eight manufacturers will go head-to-head for the overall win, a rarity in top-level motorsport. These include:
- Ferrari, aiming for a third consecutive win with its 499P LMH entries (#50 and #51), led by factory drivers like Antonio Giovinazzi and Alessandro Pier Guidi.
- Toyota, long-time contenders, bring two GR010 Hybrids as they look to reclaim the crown they lost to Ferrari in 2023.
- Porsche Penske Motorsport, with three works 963s (#5, #6, and a third car #4 added for Le Mans), looking to convert their IMSA success into a Le Mans triumph.
- Cadillac, fielding four entries across multiple teams, is pushing hard to deliver the American brand its first modern-era win.
- BMW returns with the M Hybrid V8, run by Team WRT, which also fields top contenders in LMP2.
- Peugeot, Alpine, and Aston Martin round out the factory line-up. Notably, Aston Martin makes its top-class debut with two Valkyrie AMR-LMHs, run by Heart of Racing.
Privateer teams like Hertz Team JOTA bring a Cadillac and Proton Competition a Porsche.
LMGT3: New Class, Familiar Names
The 2025 race marks the second year for the LMGT3 class, replacing the long-standing GTE category. Featuring nine manufacturers and a rich mix of factory-supported and privateer teams, LMGT3 is both technically challenging and fiercely fought.
Manufacturers represented include:
- Ferrari, with the 296 GT3
- Porsche, running the 911 GT3 R
- Corvette, switching to the Z06 GT3.R
- BMW, fielding M4 GT3s via WRT and others
- Aston Martin, with multiple Vantage GT3s
- Ford, re-entering Le Mans with the Mustang GT3
- McLaren, Mercedes-AMG, and Lexus round out the group
One of the most anticipated entries is the Iron Dames #85 Porsche, featuring an all-female lineup. The crew, which has become a symbol of inclusion and performance, returns after impressive runs in the WEC.
Mercedes-AMG’s presence marks its first Le Mans start in 26 years, with cars entered by the Iron Lynx outfit (#60, #61, and #63). Meanwhile, fan favorites like Manthey Racing (Porsche) and AF Corse (Ferrari) ensure the LMGT3 class will have plenty of established talent battling it out.
Driver Highlights
Among the 186 drivers are 16 former overall Le Mans winners, including:
- Sébastien Buemi (Toyota)
- Kamui Kobayashi (Toyota)
- Earl Bamber (Cadillac)
- James Calado and Alessandro Pier Guidi (Ferrari)
Several rookies will also debut at Le Mans in 2025, including rising stars from IMSA, European Le Mans Series, and the WEC.
The mix of youth and experience across all classes is part of what makes Le Mans so unpredictable.
