MotoGP is back in the beauty of Aragon for round 8 of the 2025 season!

The 60 minute free practice session kicked off with Johann Zarco being the first to set a flying lap time in the session. The LCR Honda rider seemed to get to grips with the track quite well, setting an initial lap time of 1:49.723 which landed him in first position for the time. His teammate Somkiat Chantra didn’t seem to share the same comforts throughout the session, finishing 20th behind Miguel Oliveira at the end of the session.

FP1 was a particularly strong session for Ducati with both riders dominating top positions for the majority of the session. Marc Marquez and Francesco Bagnaia looked strong out on circuit, topping the timing table and Marquez setting the overall fastest lap of the session, a 1:46.974. His teammate concluding in P10. Marc Marquez finished FP1 yards clear of the field, being the only rider to set a time quicker than 1:47:00 in Aragon.

Free Practice seemed to be a strong session for the KTM rider Pedro Acosta, who came alive in the second half of the session and put in lap times quick enough to keep him with the top lot. He concluded the session P6 behind other KTM rider Maverick Viñales.

Keeping his champion dreams alive, Alex Marquez, brother to Marc, was the only rider on the grid today that could get close to his brother. The championship contender set an early few lap times quick enough for P2 and held onto this position by the end of the session.

If this first practice was anything to go by, this should be another action filled weekend of MotoGP in Aragon!
