It was time for the Formula 3 race early this morning. After what seems like another perfect weekend for Rafael Câmara, can someone else come and take the win away from the championship leader ?
Third race of the season for Formula 3, and it’s for now a rather perfect start of the season for the Trident driver Rafael Câmara. However, a Van Amersfoort driver came and hustled that peace in Imola. Santiago Ramos had a great start and managed to take the lead. Behind them, it was a clean start even though some drivers put a tyre in the grass. Théophile Nael had a puncture, he pitted and went out at the back of the grid. Trident told Câmara that Ramos was going to attack and that he should try to stay with him. Thanks to the DRS, the number 5 driver took back the lead of the race on lap 4, creating a 0.8 gap in a couple of corners. Nicola Marinangeli DNF on lap 7, a bad luck weekend for the AIX Racing driver that also DNF during the sprint. Roman Billinski managed to pass his teammate Louis Sharp for P5, while Noel Leon still struggled with his race pace.

Alessandro Giusti passed Tsolov and it was close with Del Pino behind, that touched the RedBull livery. A yellow flag appeared with Ivan Dominguez in the gravel after a contact with Benavides. The AIX Racing driver will take a 10 seconds penalty for that move. The Frenchman from the Williams academy managed to overtake for P10 just before the Virtual Safety Car. When the green flag appeared, Ramos was hungry for more as he closed the gap to Câmara. Santiago Ramos was in full attack mode and took back the lead on lap 19. Rafael Câmara seemed to have attacked too much on his tyres and went a bit wide, making two of his tyres in the gravel. Noah Strømsted took P2 and was aiming to take that first place for Trident. He was close as the chequered flag waved, with only a 0.2 gap. Santiago Ramos took the win for the second time this season, and Trident made a double podium with Strømsted and Câmara. The Brazilian driver still has a 21 points gap lead.
