Joshua Dürksen showed a strong performance by leading the race from lap 1 to the end. Two rookies completed the podium.

That first Formula 2 Sprint Race was definitely something. There was no time for mistakes, otherwise it was instantly punished. The Paraguayan driver Joshua Dürksen started second but had a great start and managed to pass the Formula 3 champion, Leonardo Fornaroli. It was a rather clean start, the only exception being Victor Martins, who was pushed on the outside because of a three wide, and lost four places.

Let the chaos begin

The first safety car appeared on lap 7, when Max Esterson spun and got stuck into the gravel. Dürksen made a great restart, creating a 0.8 seconds gap with his opponent. Dino Beganovic, who was in the top 5, lost his car and spun. Luckily he managed to keep his car on track without any damage, but went back to P17. A great battle between Miní, Martí and Lindblad for p7 was offered, the Italian driver kept the lead. Sami Meguetounif took the dirty side of the track and spun at turn 9. He got stuck in the gravel, causing the second safety car. A little while later, Ritomo Miyata went a bit wide into the gravel trap and lost two places. Joshua Dürksen took the win with a 2.198 sec margin, leading the race from the start. Leonardo Fornaroli and Luke Browning complete the podium.
