The action of pre-season testing might have come to an end; however, the world of Formula 1 is not resting. Netflix just dropped a new trailer for Season 7 of Formula 1: Drive to Survive, teasing fans just one week before the official release.

A project that many people criticize yet many fans love, with millions of viewers each year, portraying the latest season of the pinnacle of motorsport in a unique way.

Drive to Survive debuted in 2019, offering a behind-the-scenes look at the 2018 season, team dynamics, challenges, and drama of the sport. The first season was a success, and since then, a new season has been released every year.

While watching the series, it’s important to remember that it is a drama and money-driven project. The more drama, the more money the producers make, so not all the action and plotlines are 100% accurate. The show is edited to create tension, evoke emotions, and portray a story of villains and heroes, because at the end of the day, that’s what keeps people watching.

On the other hand, Drive to Survive brings a lot of new fans to the sport. Being streamed on Netflix, even people who don’t watch Formula 1 regularly tune in, and many of them get hooked. It provides a good introduction to the sport with insights from drivers, team principals and other professionals, including Will Buxton, whose comments have led to some funny memes on social media.

Season 7 comes out with 10 episodes, following the most important moments of the 2024 season, such as Lewis Hamilton’s departure from Mercedes, the rise of McLaren, the downfall of Red Bull, or the moment Charles Leclerc broke the Monaco curse.

  1. Business As Usual
