The 2024 Formula 1 silly season has been full of surprises. One of the biggest, which broke the internet on February 1, 2024, was the announcement of Lewis Hamilton leaving Mercedes to join Ferrari. This decision uniting the most successful driver with the most successful team in Formula 1 history directly affected the Spanish driver Carlos Sainz, who, in that moment, lost his seat for the 2025 season and had to look for a new one.

After a few months of discussions with multiple teams across the paddock, Sainz chose to sign his new contract with Williams Racing, stating that he believes in their long-term project and the people involved. With that, the Spaniard joined Alex Albon, forming a new exciting driver lineup or, as the fans now like to call them, ‘Carbono.’

On Sunday and Monday, the 2nd and 3rd of February, Williams took their 2023 car to the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya as a part of TPC (Test the Previous Car) running to give the two drivers, especially the newcomer Carlos Sainz, the opportunity to practise on track and to get used to the new team dynamic. The official Williams team shared a few photos and videos on their social media, but it is unclear if they’re planning another session any time soon since the TPC rules only allow 1,000 kilometres for the drivers spread across four days throughout the season.

What is certain, however, is that the team is prepared for the official Pre-season testing in Bahrain at the end of February. The team at the Williams base, also known as Grove, is working hard and expecting a promising outcome heading into the new season.
