Formula E and Google Cloud have announced an exciting multi-year partnership focused on AI and technology, marking the beginning of the innovative GEN3 Evo era. As part of this collaboration, Google Cloud will become Formula E’s Official Cloud Technology Services Partner and Official Cloud Security Partner, supporting the league’s goal to transform motorsport and electric racing.
This announcement builds on Formula E’s recent achievements in transitioning its data to Google Cloud and adopting Google Workspace for better collaboration. With the expanded partnership, Formula E will enhance its capabilities through several initiatives, including:
Boosting Performance with Generative AI:
Google Cloud’s enterprise-ready AI platform, Vertex AI, along with its Gemini models, will revolutionize driver performance analysis. This will provide personalized insights and real-time feedback to both experienced drivers and upcoming talents. The transformative data insights will improve driving skills and facilitate access to elite coaching by analyzing extensive car and track data to support each driver’s racing style, tire choices, and energy strategies.
Enhancing Fan Engagement:
Off the track, Google Cloud’s generative AI-ready, unified data platform, BigQuery, will connect with Formula E’s CRM systems to create hyper-personalized fan experiences. It will also enable deeper insights into race predictions for on-screen graphics, allowing fans to engage with various types of data, including video, car telemetry, and social media content.
Strengthening Cybersecurity:
Google Cloud will implement advanced security solutions, such as threat intelligence, incident response, and security operations, to safeguard Formula E’s essential data and operations within its cloud framework.
Expanding the GENBETA Project:
The partnership will also facilitate further development of Formula E’s pioneering GENBETA project, where both organizations aim to push the limits of safety, performance, innovation, and sustainability in the realm of motorsport.
